Dr. Theresa Bismack has been here since July 1993. She graduated from Michigan State University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1979. Dr. Bismack has numerous pets including Durango, an American Paint horse, and three cats named Stranger, Tommie, and Isabella. In her spare time Dr. Bismack enjoys horseback riding and camping. Her son Brian is a radiation medical physicist and recently married a lovely young lady who is a school teacher. Brian and Amber have a daughter and son that have become the apples of Dr. Bismack's eye. Dr. Bismack's favorite part about working at Berkley Animal Clinic is being able to provide excellent patient care!
Dr. Sharon Friedman has been here since February 2001. She graduated from Michigan State University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1995. Dr. Friedman has a lab/shepherd mix named Stitch and a beagle named Lilo. She also has three cats named Tux, Harvey Dent, and Colby Jack. Dr. Friedman enjoys cross stitching, crocheting, and reading. Dr. Friedman's husband, Kenny, travels and sells science fiction collectables. She also has two sons that are active in scouts. Dr. Friedman's favorite part about working at Berkley Animal Clinic is that we have long term clients, so it's nice to see the same people and watch their pets grow!
Dr. Meredith Kamen recently joined us. She graduated from Michigan State with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2012. Afterwards she completed a year long internship in small animal medicine and surgery in New York City. She practiced emergency medicine in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens for a few years, and has also practiced in Seattle for a year. She is happy to now be back in Michigan. She lives with her husband, daughter, and her goofy lab.
Dr. Pick! Passionate to stay current and up to date with all aspects of Veterinary Medicine and very involved with Behavior patients and exotics. In her free time she spends quality time with her husband and their pets.
Dr. Golombek graduated from Michigan State University in 2000 (Go Green!). Dr. Golombek enjoys seeing all the different critters- from dogs and cats to the more exotic--but she has a special place in her heart for bunnies! In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking and waterfalling with her family and bike riding with her son. Over the years that she has spent as a Veterinarian, she has developed a special interest in Holistic and Alternative medicine, Acupuncture and Dog Behavior.

Julie has been part of the team since May 1998. Julie has one dog named Kimbo who is a Staffordshire Terrier. In Julie's spare time she enjoys fixing up her house, working out, and playing with her son. Her favorite part about working at Berkley Animal Clinic is being part of a team that truly cares about each and every patient.
Denise has been with Berkley since May 1997. Her favorite part of working at Berkley Animal Clinic is the family atmosphere. She loves learning new things and applying them to her everyday work. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her son and dog, camping and spending as much time as possible outdoors.
Jessica has been here since September 1997 and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She graduated in 2004 from the Veterinary Technician Program at Macomb Community College. Jessica has a dog named Gibbs, two cats named Simon and Garfunkel, and a turtle named Eloise at home. In her spare time Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters and going up north. Her favorite part about working at Berkley Animal Clinic is being utilized and being able to use her skills. She also likes working with people that she trusts and respects!
Lisa has been a part of our team since December 2012. She has many pets at home! Her cats' names are Beans, Chicken, Frank and Cinder. Her dog's name is Wylie. She also has horses named Rajah and Skyler. Lisa enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, and music. Lisa has an interest in feline behavior and enrichment. She is also the President and co-founder of New Beginnings Animal Rescue. Her favorite part about working at Berkley Animal Clinic is the amazing coworkers and being able to learn new things.
Krissy is one of our LVTs, graduate of 2012. She is also a dental hygienists and works at Berkley part time. Her favorite part of her job here is behavior patients and holds a special place in her heart for the Pit Bull breeds. She enjoys spending free time in the outdoors with her husband and her own pets.
Meet Erin! (Well her dog, Maeve and cat, Kevin) Erin is a dedicated Vet Assistant at Berkley Animal Clinic. She loves her job, especially because she gets to form bonds with pet owners and the patients.
Christine attended the Vet Tech Program in 2008-2009 at Baker College in Flint, MI. Since then she has worked in the Veterinary field. Christine works part time here and is currently in school to become a RN. She loves how rewarding this field is and admires every person that works here. In her spare time she enjoys going on adventures with her husband and their dog, Louie.
Kira is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who has been in the veterinary field since 2013. She graduated from Broadview University in Madison, WI with an Associates in Veterinary Medicine. Kira has wanted to work with pets since a little girl and has had quite the variety of them growing up. She lives with her boyfriend, dog, and cat. She spends her free time with loved ones and enjoy going back home to the U.P.
Joceyln is one of our reception team members. She admires most the level of care she sees with the doctors. She states, “It’s obvious they care about the patients and their owners.” Her goal is to become an English teacher and eventually obtain a masters in special education to help students with learning disabilities achieve goals she herself has overcome. She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and pets at home while crafts such as knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, and beading.
Sara joined Berkley Animal Clinic in 2016. In her time here has blossomed and become one of our Reception Leads. She is outgoing and personable. Her plans for the future are to go back to school and become a Vet Tech. She enjoys spending all her extra time with her pooch, hiking, traveling, cooking and breaking out her camera to capture the adventures she goes on.
Kathy has been here since January 1989. She currently has 9 dogs, which can all be viewed at wyntrcardigans.com. She enjoys dog showing, art, reading, and supporting canine health research. She is the Vice President of the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Health Foundation. As our groomer, she would like our clients to know that pets well-being means a lot to her. Grooming is a beauty treatment, so she does whatever she can to make a pet's grooming session pleasant and relaxing. Her favorite part about working at Berkley Animal Clinic is that she is able to bring her pets to work.
Emily has been with Berkley Animal Clinic since June of 2016. In her time here has developed into one of our reception leads. She enjoys talking with our clients and seeing our four legged patients. Outside of work, she is working towards her bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology. She also enjoys hiking and spending time with her 10 year old Labrador mix, 2 cats and boyfriend.
Mary began with our team in 2013. Her favorite part of her job is that she constantly gets to learn more about veterinary medicine and can relay that information on to our clients while getting to visit with all our adorable patients. Mary enjoys spending time with her beagle while camping with her family.
Meet Becca, one or our Reception team members. She loves that every day here is different and she gets to learn all the most up to date information on pet care! Outside of the hospital, Becca enjoys spending time with her two pit bulls, traveling the world and spending time at her cabin.
Meet Becka! Becka's favorite part of working at Berkley Animal Clinic is getting to see our patients make fast recoveries and giving pet parents peace of mind. She loves pets so much she also works at a local shelter! Becka spends time with her German Shepard and kayaking in her free time.
Liz started in October 2016, she is one of our License Veterinary Technician's and has worked hard to become our technician lead. She potentially would like to go back to school to become a DVM. She is passionate about all aspects of her job but mostly enjoys surgery. When she is not a work she likes to explore with her fun loving pit mix and try new restaurants with friends.
Meet Kiara! Kiara has years of experience in the pet world. She enjoys educating clients and greeting pets when they arrive. Kiara is the owner and founder of Walking with Henry and in her free time she enjoys relaxing with her own pups, dog walking and pet sitting.
Jordyn joined our team as a Kennel Assistant. Jordyn is currently a senior in high school and plans to go to MSU to become a DVM. What Jordyn loves about Berkley is the friendly atmosphere and all of the experience she is getting. When she is not at work, Jordyn loves spending time with her dog, friends, family, and boyfriend.
C.J. has been with Berkley Animal Clinic since November 2017. In his time here at Berkley, he has come to love meeting the new clients and patients. He wants to be able to use his skills to better the health of the patients. C.J. is an aspiring Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and will be applying for veterinary school soon. He enjoys spending time with family up north, and hanging out with his best friend Bud (pictured below).
Collene joined the Berkley Animal Clinic team, in July of 2010, as a veterinary assistant, with 10 years’ experience, prior. She enjoys learning new things, acquiring new skills, and sharpening old ones! Thoroughly taking care of our patients, as well as educating their pet parents. She has two senior kitties- C.C. and Sinatra. Sinatra, was a rescue that is as cool a cat as his namesake. Collene adopted C.C. (a.k.a. Crazy Cat) from an elderly friend that could no longer care for her. C.C was a super scared, timid cat, when she took her in, but with a lot of patience and love, she's blossomed into a very affectionate girl. Her Stanley is an older pit-bull, that is also a rescue- someone had discarded him on the streets. He's a mellow fellow that loves sun-bathing and attention. She loves her fur-kids to pieces!!
Collene loves all things nature, and enjoys spending time outdoors, going to movies and concerts, listening to music, and trying new restaurants. She looks forward to working with her co-workers while taking care of the patients, and have also made some good friends over the years. “I look forward to continuing my veterinary journey, as I couldn't see myself doing anything else!!”
Catherine loves taking care of each and every one of the furry and scaly creatures that comes in our clinic. She would like to be able to go back to school to possibly be a vet one day.
